Sustainability is the heart of 3M’s innovation

Port Dickson (PD) is a local beach that is a tourist attraction for many domestic and international tourist, but over the years it has been piled up with waste. As such, 3M Seremban partnered with UniKL MESTECH to raise awareness about the importance of caring for the environment.

On the 13th of April 2019, volunteers from 3M Seremban and UniKL MESTECH organized a beach clean up campaign at Pantai Cermin, PD. More than 90 volunteers from both teams showed up for the Beach Clean Up activity which covered 1.5km on Pantai Cermin.

The program also received full support from the local PD municipal.

In 2015, the PSI (Pollutant Standards Index) level reading in Kalimantan was at an extreme level of 2000. Therefore, the Rotaract Club of Bangsar organized the Care 4 Kalimantan social media campaign which aimed to spread awareness to the public on the seriousness of the haze situation in Kalimantan and also to gather donations to be sent to the affected communities.

Many families from the lower income bracket can't afford to purchase respirators. As such, some only wear surgical masks which does not protect its wearer against the harmful effects of haze. 3M Malaysia stepped in to donate 2,400 pieces of N95 Respirators and 720 pair of goggles. The products were channeled to the Rotaract Club of Bangsar to be distributed to the people affected.
