Leveraging our selection of low-loss fluoropolymers for 5G plastics and composite applications can enable high velocity and transfer speeds, reduced signal transmission power loss and improved signal-to-noise ratios compared to other polymers and additives. Materials include polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) and perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA). These are great substrates for plastic components, providing excellent dielectric properties for controlled Dk and Df, low moisture absorption and weatherability including resistance to UV.
Adding our 3M™ Boron Nitride Cooling Fillers (BNCF) can really make a difference for plastics or composites that must meet requirements for thermal performance and signal transmission in epoxy, polycarbonates (PC), fluoropolymers, PPA, silicone and other resins. Specifically in PC and fluoropolymers, our BN fillers show improved bonding compared to other thermal fillers. 3M™ BNCF can increase thermal conductivity and limit RF absorption properties in 5G components.
