Its reinforced, low-stretch backing and exceptional edge durability help deliver aggressive cutting performance, while the conformable, nonwoven Scotch-Brite™ Abrasive effectively helps refine and prepare metal surfaces without significantly altering the underlying material. Additionally, the Scotch-Brite™ Splice Lock Technology further enhances the belt's performance, offering excellent strength and durability.

The nonwoven fiber material resists loading and holds up to edge work, while aluminum oxide abrasives provide effective cutting action that produces consistent finishing performance on stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel over the life of the belt. Aluminum Oxide mineral is embedded in the nonwoven web, which wears away evenly to continually expose fresh mineral. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use. Easily identifiable by its distinctive purple backing, the Scotch-Brite™ Durable Flex Low Stretch Belt is suitable on a wide variety of substrates and work great on a variety of tools and machines, including file belt tools, inline sanders and backstands. The Scotch-Brite™ Splice Lock Technology design significantly reduces belt splice breakages, addressing a common customer concern.
