Data is comparable to current auto industry method using a clear 89% VLT glass, and testing is in accordance to ANSI/NFRC 200 Procedure.

Infrared Rejection (IRR) - Percent of solar infrared energy in the 900 – 1,000 nm wavelength range that is rejected by the car tinting film. Measurement is made of film with liner alone (i.e., no glass).

TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejection) - The percentage of total solar energy rejected by filmed glass. The higher this value, the less solar heat is transmitted.

The visible light transmittance (VLT) values provided are based on measurements conducted on clear glass.

  • When you see the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation for our 3M™ Automotive Window Film Crystalline Series and Ceramic IR Series, this distinction is based on testing qualifications meeting the Skin Cancer Foundation criteria and standards established by their Photobiology committee to block 99% or more of UVA and UVB radiation. For nearly 40 years, the Seal has been trusted by consumers to represent safe and effective sun protection. All product applications are reviewed by a volunteer committee of dermatologists with expertise in photobiology (the study of the interaction of ultraviolet light and the skin).
